The SINILA Technology

The beginning of shipshaping

The Acronym

SINILA stands for ``Size Is Not Important, Looks Are''

The Concept

Initially I saw no particular reason why I should have any kind of restrictions on the size of the ship, as long as it fitted within a 31x31 point cube. Since the ship's target area is fixed regardless off the ship's actual size, and passages that are only one block wide are very rare, the size should be insignificant, when deciding on the appearance. Instead I focused the design of the ship on the looks. It should be aesthetical (in the sense a combat craft can be that) and yet functional.

The Making

The beta version of the Boffmobile did have that characteristical rounded hull and roof plate, yet so far not the typical stabilizer wings. Instead two weapon pods were attached to the ship's sides. It was a good-looking solution, but I was not satisfied. I wanted to have the pods further away from the body in order to have a greater spread on my fire power. So I installed the wings. These were used to support one missile rack each and the left and right gun. The power was immense.
