What do Fruitarians Eat?

Fruitarians see 5 or 6 energy levels, determined by the food you eat.

LevelName What you eat
1. Mixed diet You eat just about everything
2. Vegetarian diet You eat everything but fish and meat
3. Vegan diet You exclude all food of animal origin
4. Raw food diet You don't eat any heated food, because all the enzymes are destroyed at 46 °C
5. Fruit & Seed dietYou eat only ("organic" or "biologically cultivated") fruits and sometimes nuts or seeds
6. Fruit diet You eat exclusively fruit

People at both levels 5 and 6 is said to be fruitarians. The need of nuts and seeds usually decreases by time.

Fruitarians always try to eat biologically cultivated, or "organic" fruits, but if that's not possible the important thing is the desire to eat poison-free fruit. In real life it can be difficult for a number of reasons to get a hold of organic fruit. It may also be too expensive for some. What you should do then is to buy biologically cultivated fruit once in a while just to show (the world and yourself) that that's the fruit to eat.

The body can be fruitarian to 50% or 75% or whatever, but the important thing is that you are 100% fruitarian in your mind!

Different fruits are available during different times of the year, so when the melon-time comes one eats a lot of melons and so on. This brings a little variation with the seasons.

Before we begin with the "recipes" you should know what fruitarians consider to be fruits. Of course all the usual fruits you know, but we also think of avocado, cucumbers, tomatoes, paprika, olives and squash as fruits. (They are actually vegetable-fruits). Of course we eat and love all kinds of berries as well.

Something to think about is that you shouldn't eat melons at the same time as other fruits. (They digest very rapidly, and will begin to ferment if held up by other slower-to-digest fruits in your stomach, thus causing a loss of nutrients and digestive discomfort -- Ed.).

The recipes can be an easier way of changing to an only fruit diet. However, a trained fruitarian eats mainly one fruit per meal. This means that the fruit can develop its whole frequency in the body without any disturbances. It can take a while to come to this stage but it's worth it, I know!

ICE CREAM:

To make this wonderful ice cream you first peel a couple of bananas and put them in your freezer for 3-4 hours (note that the bananas should be well ripened). Then you take them out and mix them with one of the following:

  • 1-2 frozen mangos or
  • 2-3 tablespoons of any desired berry or
  • 4-5 soaked apricots + 10 roasted almonds.

The ice cream can either be eaten immediately or be shaped as ordinary ice cream and re-frozen. An alternative is to always have bananas in the freezer and take them out about 1 hour before mixing them.
